Main duties of the job
This is a whole-time post in ENT/Head & Neck Surgery based at UHS with duties at Southampton General Hospital, Royal South Hants Hospital and also Salisbury and Winchester for emergencies. The successful applicant must be able to work unsupervised.

Qualifications, Training & Experience
Essential
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- MRCS or equivalent
- GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
- Previous experience of working in the NHS
- Minimum of four years at Senior Fellow and/or Specialty Doctor level, at least two of which have been in the appropriate speciality
- Ability to offer expert clinical opinion in a range of emergency problems within the speciality.
- Ability to take responsibility for the emergency care of patients
- A wide range of clinical skills and practice in the speciality
- Documented audit experience
- Extensive experience in Head & Neck Diagnostics including 2WW clinics and diagnostic GA endoscopy
Desirable
- Certification or instructor status in ATLS, ALS, APLS, EPLS, MIMMS and/or post graduate qualifications in ENT surgery
