Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced paediatric epilepsy nurse specialist to join the tertiary epilepsy service for Children and Young People (0-18 years).The successful post-holder will work autonomously and will offer specialist advice, acting as a source of expertise and knowledge for families and other health care professionals. They will play a vital part in the ongoing development of epilepsy services for Children & Young People , working with the lead consultant for epilepsy, driving innovation and ensuring clinical excellence whilst participating in audit, research, and data collection.Working alongside UHS Trust multidisciplinary services, the successful post holder will have an identified case load of complex epilepsy patients the post holder will be advocating best practice, coordinating their care, and offering excerpt nurse led services where required across community, education, transition to adult services and other relevant external agencies within the wider Wessex region. The post holder will be supported to develop both personally and professionally within the role with access to training and education to improve knowledge and skill.
