Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an administrator to join our small but friendly team in the Rapid Investigation Service (RIS) for Urgent Suspected Cancers, where you will play an instrumental role in the administrative functions of this service.
You will be joining an exciting and developing service within Cancer Care. This is a regional service which is delivered using a virtual model to provide a cancer fast track referral rout for patients in Primary Care with non-specific symptoms.
The RIS aims to speed up processes for this typically hard to diagnose group and improve overall patient experience.
The RIS is a small team of admin and clinical staff who are passionate and dedicated to our patients.
You will be comfortable communicating by telephone and email with patients, primary care and acute hospital colleagues due to the virtual service provided.

You will support and engage in development and change of processes within the service. You will support the delivery of specific national targets, ensuring timely progression of the patient pathway, flexing capacity where possible and escalating to your line Manager as appropriate. You will support and participate in delivery of the weekly Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) Meetings alongside our admin and clinical teams.
You will also work closely with both primary and secondary care colleagues across the region as part of operational delivery of this regional service.
