Main duties of the job

Your primary focus will be the outpatient and surgical management of complex Otology and lateral skull base conditions. You will be a member of the ENT team and of the Skull base team (with colleagues in allied specialties of Neurosurgery, Oncology, OMF surgery, plastics etc). The post is based at principally at Southampton General hospital with some Outpatient clinical activity in the Royal South Hants Hospital.

Responsibilities include the management of in-patients, outpatient clinics, attendance at Multidisciplinary Team (MDTs) meetings, administration, teaching, educational and clinical supervision, service development, participation in the ENT on-call rota, which is shared with, and covers, Winchester Hospital and Salisbury Hospital.

You will be working with internal and external clinicians to grow and develop the model of care across the region to ensure the service is responsive to the needs of the local and regional population.Applicants should be strongly motivated to work in a teaching hospital and should be prepared to take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and clinical management.   • Higher Qualification in specialty i.e., FRCS
