Main duties of the job
We are seeking applications from individuals to undertake training to become a Clinical Perfusion Scientist.
We welcome applications from Perfusionists who have not practiced for four years or more.
The successful applicant will undertake full in-service training incorporating practical experience under supervision and academic study monthly block release as part of the post Graduate Perfusion Science MSc programme at University of Bristol necessary to achieve professional accreditation. The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Care Group provides a regional service and is one of the largest Clinical Care Groups within the Trust. Currently, the cardiac team undertakes 1800 adults and 400 paediatric procedures per year within four cardiac theatres.

You will work towards becoming a qualified and autonomous practitioner, able to deliver clinical and professional perfusion services to the multidisciplinary team. You will undergo professional development to enable the Care Group to meet its contractual and professional targets.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR A relevant Honours Degree (minimum 2:1) will be required to be eligible to undertake the Perfusion Science MSc. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work in a team, adaptability to changing situations and the ability to work for long periods. A recognised perfusion qualification and a minimum of 12 months post qualification experience in perfusion.
