Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen to join this well established, friendly, hardworking team of over 60 Radiographers working within the Cross-Sectional Imaging Department at the Trust. Due to continued service expansion we are seeking enthusiastic, talented Band 5 radiographers who would like to progress to a Band 6 role in Cross-sectional Imaging. We would help the right candidate to develop their skills with appropriate support to become competent in CT, MRI and Neuro Interventional Angiography. We will ensure all competencies are met prior to working as a specialist Radiographer. ABOUT THE TEAM We operate 24/7 providing services to some 1.9 million people living in Southampton and south Hampshire, plus specialist services such as neurosciences, cardiac services and children's intensive care to more than 3.7 million people in central southern England and the Channel Islands. Within Cross-sectional imaging we have the following equipment installed: - 2 Siemens Sola 1.5T MRI scanners 1 Siemens Aera 1.5T MRI scanners 1 Siemens Vida 3T MRI scanners 1 Siemens Skyra 3T MRI scanners 2 Siemens Definition Edge Plus dual energy CT scanners 2 Siemens Definition Edge dual energy CT scanners 1 Siemens Drive Dual Source CT scanner GE Revolution GSI CT and GE Discovery HD CT Siemens Go Top CT on our own Mobile unit Siemens Artis Zee Bi-plane Neuro-Interventional Angiography suite Siemens Artis Zee Single plane Neuro-Interventional Angiography Suite Expecting further CT scanners later in the year. We work in partnership with a Siemens managed equipment service ensuring our equipment is well maintained, up to date and state of the art. Our supportive team of Superintendents and Radiologists lead our Imaging services with an open and inclusive approach.
