Main duties of the job
The role of the legacy midwife is to support students, newly qualified and internationally trained midwives navigate the early stages of their midwifery careers at UHS. This is an exciting role whereby the successful candidate(s) will contribute to the shaping of our future workforce through education and supervision of clinical skills built up from their own range of broad experiences across maternity. This is a supportive role which involves teaching and encouraging learners to achieve their competencies across all areas of our service in a safe, nurturing environment.
UHS Maternity is a fast-paced progressive service with just over 5000 births every year and proudly received the rating of 'Good' from the CQC in May 2023. We are also a regional centre for fetal and maternal medicine providing specialist care for women with medical problems during pregnancy, and for those whose babies' need extra care before or around birth.
