Main duties of the job
Applications are invited for the post of Senior Fellow in Paediatric Sleep Medicine to start March 2025.
Applicants should have MRCPCH, some experience of managing children with sleep disorders including sleep disordered breathing.
The Trust is a major teaching centre for the University of Southampton, offering opportunities for Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching and excellent facilities for research and clinical care. The post holder will join a team of 5 paediatric sleep consultants to further develop their interests and skills in paediatric sleep medicine. A full range of subspecialty interests are offered with special expertise in sleep disordered breathing, ventilation titration, neurological sleep disorders including sleep related movement disorders, parasomnias, narcolepsy, circadian rhythm disorders and chronic insomnia. Depending on the interest and training of the applicant, this post can offer further experience in long term ventilation or paediatric neurology.

- Youll work with the 5 consultants who look after children with sleep disorders and the 5 consultants who look after children on home mechanical ventilation to provide a full supra regional paediatric sleep and ventilation service.
- Based on your experience, youll be involved with setting up polysomnography studies, undertake ventilation titration nights and outpatient clinics.
- Youll prepare and lead weekly multidisciplinary sleep meetings and action points from the meetings.
- Youll participate and contribute to the department via research and audit
