Main duties of the job
This post combines duties at a busy university hospital, district general hospital and ISTC and will provide the trainee with experience in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery including Dento-alveolar surgery, dental and maxillofacial trauma, facial deformity, oral cancer, skin cancer, salivary gland diseases, TMJ disorders, facial deformity / orthognathic surgery, oral mucosal pathology and facial pain.
There is a regular in house protected teaching programme in addition to the mandatory regional teaching programme. The trainee will undertake audits and will have ample opportunities to get involved in projects leading to presentations and publications. There are regular head and neck and facial deformity MDT's and joint clinics, which the trainee will have opportunities to attend.

- Attending OMFS and Oral Surgery Consultation Clinics
- Outpatient and inpatient management of maxillofacial elective and emergency patients
- Performing minor oral surgery under GA/LA
- Attending and assisting in major cases in theatre

- Develop a further understanding of the assessment and management of maxillofacial trauma
