Main duties of the job
YOUR MAIN DUTIES
This position is for 1 year with interim 3-month review. The post is designed to suit those interested in a career in dermatology (ST3 level) but applications will be considered from FY3 onwards. 50% of the post will involve general medical and dermatological assessments on dermatology patients as part of a clinical trials team and will incorporate paediatric and adult activity. The other 50% of the post is flexible but is fully funded for the individual to undertake dermatology clinics at a registrar level including training and service provision (for the appropriately qualified candidate). Candidates wishing to undertake alternative activities instead of clinics e.g. a research project, would need to find separate funding, but all requests will be considered.
The dermatology team is a dynamic team of large team of consultants, including clinical academics, 4 SpR's and one ACF, 3 clinical fellows, 1 CMT and 2 GPVTS, Associate Specialist and ANP as well as several nurse specialists. There is a strong research and teaching focus within the team. The dermatology team was highly commended in the quality-of-care dermatology team of the year award.
