Job summary

The Experience of Care team at University Hospital Southampton (UHS) are looking for a innovative and inspiring clinical leader to lead the Patient Experience agenda, an opportunity to drive change and ensure the patient's voice is an integral component of the care we give at UHS. We are looking for an experienced clinical leader with a focus and passion for patient experience.

The role will cover direct line leadership of voluntary services, the Macmillan Cancer and Information Support Centre, Spiritual Care, Patient Support Hub, Patient Information, Patient Engagement, and Bereavement Care as well as providing oversight of quality projects that as a team we are involved in or are leading on.

To provide expert clinical, professional and managerial leadership across the of Experience of Care team.

To be the nursing / allied health professional practice clinical lead, developing the practice and providing a strong visible clinical presence across the Trust.

Actively support the team objectives by developing services and leading projects to influence service redesign. To be accountable for all aspects of the quality agenda with regard to patients and staff experience, safety and outcome.

To work in partnership with the designated leads within THQ to ensure accountability on quality performance indicators. To lead on the Fundamentals of Care programme.

Manage the patient experience and involvement team to deliver specialist support and advice to clinical services to plan, drive, and embed patient involvement within the trusts improvement programmes, focusing on ensuring patients are involved throughout project lifecycles.
