An exciting opportunity has a risen to lead the delivery of the Perioperative Care Service at University Hospital Southampton including perioperative medicine and pre-assessment at both Southampton and Lymington sites.Perioperative care in Southampton has an international reputation for implementing and transformation of services such as CPET, prehabilitation, pre-assessment, shared decision making clinics, surgery school and anaemia management with the aim of improving the outcome for patients having surgery.The successful candidate will lead a large multidisciplinary team including Dietitians, Physiologists, Nursing, Administrative and other professionals alongside a specialist Consultant team. Across perioperative care over 14,000 outpatient appointments and over 1,000 day case appointments are performed per year.You will be expected to provide clinical expertise for perioperative patients, supporting the various departments with complex escalation, leading MDT meetings and performing clinical decision making.As a service we are a rapidly expanding service working closely with research teams and the transformation departments to provide innovative new services and support to ensure patients receive high quality perioperative treatments.
