Job summary
Southampton Neonatal Unit has an exciting opportunity for a trainee Advanced Neonatal Practitioner position, working on the Neonatal Unit, Princess Anne Hospital.
The successful candidate will start as a band 7 and will be enrolled on to the accredited ANNP training programme at Southampton University, starting September 2024. The theoretical component of the course will be delivered through the university, with clinical training and mentorship provided on the Neonatal Unit.
Following completion of the programme, you will undertake a period of supernumerary time whilst still a band 7, you will then step up to an 8a working within an established team on the SHO tier of the medical rota as a holistic practitioner supporting both medical and nursing colleagues.
A shift system is in place which includes weekends and night shifts. You will be expected to work in all areas of the neonatal service with an opportunity to lead in specific areas.

- RN/RSCN/RM/RN Child
- Post qualifying modules in Specialist Neonatal course
- Neonatal Nursing Qualified in Speciality (QIS)
- Committed and eligible for participation in and completion of MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (ANNP) within 3 years
- Newborn life support provider (NLS)
- Clinical neonatal experience and up to date knowledge
