Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated, enthusiastic, dynamic individual to join our established Advanced Critical Care Practitioner team in Cardiac ICU as a trainee.
The Successful applicant will have to commit to participating in and successful completion of an academic and clinical training programme, leading to an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (Critical Care) and membership with the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine. There will be clinical training and learning opportunities with robust assessment of practice overseen by a nominated Consultant educational supervisor. Trainees will have the opportunity to rotate to General and Neuro Intensive Care as part of their training programme. The post holder will be paid at band 7 (minimum of 3 years) leading to a B8a on completion of required competencies, MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, and achievement of FICM membership.

This post is based in the Wessex Cardiac Centre, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. The unit is the third busiest UK cardiac centre with some of the lowest mortality rates. We have a 16-bedded unit caring for adult cardiac patients from across the region and nationally who require post-operative care following elective cardiac surgery, emergency surgical and cardiology admissions, complex multi organ support and adult congenital patients. Were one of the largest cardiac centres in the country and are renowned for our local and national contribution to critical care and for consistently delivering high standards of clinical care.
