Job summary

Applications are invited for a Consultant Interventional Neuroradiologist (INR) to join our friendly and forward-thinking neuroradiology group. This is a new post to support a sustainable 24/7 mechanical thrombectomy service across the Wessex region. The post holder will become the sixth INR in our group. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated candidate, to support and develop the interventional neuroradiology service.

There will be opportunity for you to develop a subspecialty area or areas of interest. You will be able to progress your career at one of the largest teaching hospitals in the country, with opportunities to participate in research, education and radiological innovation.

The 10 PA posts cover all aspects of interventional neuroradiology. The main responsibilities and duties of the posts are given below, with more detail in the attached job description. You are invited to get in touch if there are any points on which you would like to seek clarification.

  • Full GMC Registration.
  • CCT in Radiology (or expected within 6 months of date of interview) and/or entry on the Specialist Register in Clinical Radiology.
  • Completed general training in Radiology, Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at specialist level in a recognised centre
  • Experience and skills in a subspecialist area of neuroradiology and willingness to develop these aspects further.
  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and to supervise junior staff.
  • Enthusiasm for teaching and training.
  • Understanding of and willingness to participate in clinical governance and audit activities.
  • An appropriate level of leadership, organisational, communication, professional and personal abilities to be effective in the role of consultant diagnostic neuroradiologist in a large teaching hospital.
