Job summary

We are excited to announce a new opportunity to expand our established operational and performance team at Southampton Children's Hospital. We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic Operational Coordinator to support the effective and efficient delivery of our services. You will work with the multidisciplinary team to build and maintain robust working relationships whilst remaining calm, focused, and detail orientated in a fast paced environment. We are looking for you to have a strong 'can do' attitude and be proactive and pragmatic when responding to challenges. The successful candidate will be in a unique position to shape and define the responsibilities of this role whilst contributing to the success of the services we provide to patients.

Southampton Children's Hospital is part of University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) and is one of the largest teaching trusts in the country. Southampton Children's Hospital is a major centre for specialist paediatric services across the south of England providing acute specialist care to our local population as well as a wider geographical area that includes the Isle of Wight and Channel Islands. It is the only Paediatric Trauma Unit outside of London and across the south of England.

What you'll do:1) Be responsible for the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring that co-ordinated and streamlined administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.2) To ensure that patient pathways are managed in line with Trust and National reporting standards and that all documentation is maintained in line with information governance principles.3) To support the operational management team with day-to-day operational issues, including patient flow.4) To deputise for the operational managers and access manager as required.

Excellent working knowledge of eCamis system and relevant Trust and NHS procedures.2) Proven ability to work to deadlines, prioritise and multitask.3) Able to communicate with people at all levels in an articulate manner.4) Able to work flexibly, covering core hours and working mainly onsite with the opportunity for remote working in line with service demands.

  • Ability to analyse and interpret performance report information
  • Organisational knowledge of admin procedures and working processes
