Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Alcohol Care team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation trust for a 12 month secondment covering maternity leave.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a passionate, dedicated and patient focused service in their vision to optimise the alcohol service at UHS.

We are looking for an enthusiastic nurse with a passion for working with patients with alcohol related conditions to join our team and develop our service. The team currently deliver a liaison service 7 days a week to patients 18 years or over across all of UHS. We offer advice and guidance to both patients and clinical or nursing teams. We work closely with commissioners and community services to offer a streamline service for our patient group.

The team delivers patient centred, evidence based care to patients. We provide support, advice, and information to patients and their families. Liaison with referrers, community services and members of UHS multidisciplinary teams are essential elements to ensuring patients receive a seamless service. The team is involved in teaching both within the hospital and to colleagues in the community about many aspects of alcohol use disorders. There will be opportunities for the successful candidate to be involved in this.
