Job summary
We have an exciting secondment or fixed term opportunity as an administrator in our Gynaecology outpatient department at the Princess Anne Hospital to end the 31st March 2024 . Our admin team role is an area of high activity, we are looking for a candidate with excellent customer service and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise their workload.
The admin team are a valuable asset, ensuring the patient receives excellent customer service throughout the patient journey. We are a friendly and supportive team supporting and covering duties as required. We are dedicated to the service and patients we come into contact with daily ensuring they have the best possible experience throughout their patient journey.
We are looking for 37.50 hours per week.
The shift patterns are bi- weekly of 8am -4pm and 9am -5pm. If you are unable to commit to these hours please do not apply.

Book appointments within a set period of time essential to the patients care Add patients to the waiting list Reschedule and cancel appointments accordingly Liaise with a Multidisciplinary team Have regular telephone contact with patients/GPs and other relevant clinical professionals ensuring the patients pathway runs smoothly Book transport and interpreters Conduct all other admin duties such as raising patient records/ post and the generic email account. Use UHS systems including eCamis, HICCS and Cris. Provide excellent customer service and to build relationships with stakeholders internally and externally.
You will need to be able to work in a calm, logical and methodical way but be able to multi task whilst dealing with frequent interruptions. You must also possess effective communication skills.
You must be confident, diplomatic and able to work in a busy environment with a pleasant disposition. This role is varied and busy so you will need to have a flexible approach to a demanding workload and changing priorities.
You will need to have a high standard of spelling and grammar and be someone who is committed to learn and develop. You will need to demonstrate compassion, patience and calmness. Due to the nature of this role a high level of organisation is essential to deal with the conflicting work demands. We are also looking for you to have the ability to work independently, seeking guidance where necessary.
