Job summary

We are looking for maternity cover on a fixed term contract for 12 months.You will be part of a small team of Sonographers, who are well respected and committed to providing a high standard of examinations.

The ultrasound department performs routine and complex obstetric and gynaecological scans to support antenatal and gynaecology outpatients, gynaecology oncology, and Post-Menopausal Bleeding clinics. All Sonographers scan and report autonomously and are supported for further development and training.

In addition we have a self-contained Early pregnancy Unit with all day ultrasound cover, six days a week.

ABOUT THE TEAM

You will work closely with and be supported by the onsite Regional Fetal Medicine team who provide care to women and their families undergoing high risk or problematic pregnancies requiring specialist care and expertise. You will also work closely and be supported by our lead Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.

  • HCPC or NMC registered radiographer, nurse or midwife
  • Degree (BSc Hons) in Radiography, Nursing, Midwifery or equivalent qualification)
  • Post graduate qualification in Ultrasound, Post graduate certificate in Obstetrics and Gynaecological examinations as a minimum
  • Evidence of role specific continuing professional development

Previous or relevant experience necessary

  • Experience working in an ultrasound department
  • Experience of working in partnership with consultants and participating in creating innovative solutions for new services
