Job summary
We are delighted to be seeking a part-time (0.4wte) Play Therapist to join the team in the Paediatric Oncology psychology service in Southampton. Thanks to the generous support of Abby's Heroes, this newly created role will work closely with the Clinical Psychologists working in Oncology and Neuro-oncology to help children and their families who are receiving (or have received) treatment for cancer and leukaemia.
You will liaise closely with the wider psychosocial team within the hospital to provide the best therapeutic care, and will join a friendly and supportive psychology team consisting of Clinical Psychologists, a Counsellor, Trainees, Assistants and Admin staff. We are a friendly team, who place a strong emphasis on self-care and on supporting one another. This provides us with a strong foundation from which we can give our best to the children and families we meet, as well as to our multidisciplinary colleagues.

- Registration with either the British Association of Play Therapists or Play Therapy UK and adherence to the Ethical Basis for good practice in Play Therapy as a condition of continued registration
