Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a nurse to join the Wessex neurological centre as a band 7 clinical nurse specialist. This is an opportunity for a nurse with a good knowledge of epilepsy to join our established team working closely with the neurological Consultants in Southampton. The post holder will be involved in the care of patients managed with medication and those undergoing neurosurgical treatments at University Hospital Southampton sites.
The post holder will be a key point of contact for patients living with epilepsy offering information, advice and support, as well as providing education to our nursing teams within Wessex neurological centre. As a regional centre, the role will require joint working with the Consultants at UHS and liaising with community services across the region.

- Registered nurse on relevant part of the NMC register
- Level 7 Post Grad Cert (Min 60 Credits), Master's Degree within relevant speciality or equivalent level of knowledge to be assessed through evidence of relevant speciality training, experience, or portfolio (Must include HTPA)
- Specialist training / Qualification in area of practice
- Supporting colleagues to promote effective learning in practice
- Evidence of experience and completion of all band 6 competencies within relevant speciality
