By joining this team you will be part of a combined Therapy Services department of over 260wte staff, consisting of B2-4 Therapy support staff, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. We are one of the largest teaching hospitals in Europe.

You will:

Provide expert assessment and treatment of highly complex patients with a variety of pathologies whilst supporting others develop their clinical skills

Lead on complex discharges, with the support of a robust health and social care MDT

Engage in and deliver training and developmental opportunities for yourself and others

Provide clinical supervision to students, band 5s and therapy technicians

Develop an expansive network of relationships with partner agencies to deliver the best possible care for patients across organisational boundaries

Actively drive quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and develop the service

Engage in a range of managerial processes, such as recruitment, appraisals, and clinical governance
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
The post holder will have a broad range of clinical experience and the ability to treat patients with care, compassion and dignity. Th successful candidate will be part of a large therapy team and will work jointly with the MDT to provide an advanced standard of Physiotherapy to our patients, maximise function and support facilitate safe discharge. An understanding of working in the acute setting is essential and recent NHS experience is desirable. The role will provide an excellent opportunity for career development, with a focus on clinical, leadership and service development.
The successful applicant should have relevant postgraduate clinical experience with a desire to develop their knowledge and skills in the care of patients with a wide range of pathologies. Excellent support will be given towards continual learning and professional development, including undertaking regular audits.
The post holder will be expected to lead the therapy team in the absence of the Band 7s, be involved in the teaching programme, service development, student supervision and the development of Band 2-5 therapy staff. All staff are expected to work flexibly to support a 7-day service.
