Job summary

Are you looking for an exciting finance apprenticeship role? We have an exciting opportunity in our newly restructured, award winning, Finance Team supporting a £1bn+ high performing NHS Foundation Trust. The team is looking to recruit a committed individual to join as Senior Finance Apprentice, you will be enthusiastic, have great attention to detail and motivated to complete the AAT Level 4 or CIMA certificate qualification and apprenticeship.

The 100 strong finance team provides a range of accounting services; the post holder will rotate between our costing team and other finance teams, gaining invaluable experience of working in a very large, professional, committed, successful Finance Department alongside sponsored study support to AAT Level 4 or CIMA certificate.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

WHAT YOULL DO

As a Senior Finance apprentice you will rotate across various departments spending approx. 6 months in the service at a time. You will assist the teams in various duties including; payments to suppliers, raising invoices, answering budget manager queries and reconciling control accounts. One of your key areas of work will be within Service level costing where you will support the team in understanding the true costs of delivering different services to the patients and the potential impact on income, this information and other benchmarking tools that the costing team use to support the Trust in making informed decisions regarding services.

Alongside the practical experience you will undertake a Level 4 finance apprenticeship and study Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 4 or CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting. Study time and off the job training will be fully supported and considered of equal importance to the work experience.

WHAT WERE LOOKING FORWe are looking for applicants who really want to learn, make a difference and can think for themselves.

This opportunity will provide a strong stepping stone for further career job opportunities and development, at the end of this Level 4 apprenticeship you will be either a member of AAT or hold the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting both provide great foundations to further progress and complete a Chartered Accountancy Qualification.

As this is a higher level apprenticeship applicants must already hold AAT Level 3, or equivalent qualification and ideally have some finance experience.

Due to the rotational nature of this role you will be a team player with strong communication skills who is willing to work hard and be adaptable to the different demands of the department. You will have strong attention to detail will be honest with all the work that you do. You will demonstrate independence and initiative when carrying out tasks. A good working knowledge of excel is important, such as proficiency in data manipulation through the use of Pivot Tables, formulas and filters.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
