We have an exciting opportunity in our newly restructured, award winning, Finance Team supporting a £1bn+ high performing NHS Foundation Trust. The team is looking to recruit two committed individuals to join as Finance Apprentices, who are enthusiastic, have great attention to detail and motivated to complete the AAT Level 3 qualification and apprenticeship.
The 100 strong finance team provides a range of accounting services; the post holders will rotate and get experience in a number of these services gaining invaluable experience of working in a very large, professional, committed, successful Finance Department alongside sponsored study support to AAT Level 3.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
WHAT YOULL DO
As a Finance apprentice you will rotate across different finance teams, spending between 6-9 months in the service at a time. You will assist the teams in various duties including payments to suppliers, raising invoices, answering budget manager queries, reconciling control accounts and analysing data. This practical experience across a wide range of financial services will provide an excellent foundation for a career in finance and the NHS.
Alongside the practical experience you will undertake a Level 3 finance apprenticeship and study Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 3. Study time and off the job training will be fully supported and considered of equal importance to the work experience. On completion of this course there would be an opportunity to further develop your career with our apprenticeship programmes at Level 4 and Level 7 (qualified accountant).

Applications are welcomed from anyone with a minimum of 5 A*-C GCSEs (or equivalent), although AAT Level 2 qualified, an A Level in accounting, first class honours degree level in a non-financial degree or work experience in a finance department would be favourable. You must be eligible for the Government Apprentice scheme so this will not attract visa sponsorship.
Due to the rotational nature of this role you will be a team player with strong communication skills who is willing to work hard and be adaptable to the different demands of the department. You will have strong attention to detail and be honest with all the work that you do. You will demonstrate independence and initiative when carrying out tasks. Work experience in finance or customer services is desirable as is a good working knowledge of excel.
