Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Nurse Practitioner within the Wessex Rapid Investigation Service. You will have an instrumental role in the development and running of this service.This role is offered on a full-time (37.5 hours per week) and fixed-term basis, for two years.
You will be joining an exciting, new and developing service, the Wessex Rapid Investigation Service (RIS). This is a regional service which is delivered using a virtual model, to provide a cancer fast track referral route for patients seen in Primary Care with non-specific symptoms. The RIS aims to speed up diagnosis for this typically hard to diagnose group and to improve overall patient experience.
You will be part of a small team and will very much be part of shaping and developing this new service as it scales, develops and diversifies.
Main duties of the job
Engage directly with clinical, medical and nursing teams in the management of patents, providing specialist advice, collaboration and consultancy.Undertake autonomous working through provision of initiation of investigations, interpretation of results and optimising patients condition in discussion with the multidisciplinary team.Work closely with the RIS Team, actively contributing to the overall of the service.Work closely with primary care colleagues.Work within the existing live service for suspected cancer patients presenting with nonspecific symptoms and will also work as part of the breast lumself-referral pilot RIS pathway and dermatology RIS pathway.
