The NHS doesnt have a good track record of adopting innovations and delivering them at scale. There are many examples of innovations that have successfully demonstrated their advantage in parts of the NHS, but do not become widespread.

Thats where we come in as one of 15 Academic Health Sciences Networks (AHSNs) across England established in 2013, our role is to support and enable our health and care partners across Wessex adopt innovative practice faster.

Wessex AHSN is currently recruiting a Programme Manager to join the Nationally Prioritised Innovations programme. We are looking for people passionate about patients and have a desire to support transformation of the NHS through innovation, improving the NHS and making the NHS the best healthcare system in the world.

Easily accessible from the M3, M27 and Southampton Parkway train station, the location offers free parking with a newly-redeveloped caf area on site. 27 acres of the Science Park site are designated a protected Conservation Area and open to staff.

You will be responsible for the delivery of multiple national innovation adoption programmes across Wessex, working with local clinical teams, commissioners and industry to achieve sustainable adoption.

The AHSN Network is commissioned by the NHS England Accelerated Access Collaborative (AAC) - The post holder will be responsible for the local leadership and delivery of innovation adoption projects mandated by the AAC Rapid Uptake Programme and the AAC MedTech Funding Mandate. Both programmes are high profile and a key metric of success for Wessex AHSN. Each AAC project is unique, requiring a bespoke approach which you will be able to influence and develop. There may also be opportunities to lead national projects on behalf of the AHSN Network.
