We are looking for an experience digital programme manager to head our Digital / Informatics programme management office where you will support the delivery of vital and complex digital change programmes. A large part of the role will be implementing new processes to improve the efficiency of the Informatics service.

The pandemic forced a rapid acceleration in the adoption of digital technology in many areas, from remote working, to virtual clinical handover meetings, virtual Multi-disciplinary meetings with 1000's of staff working from home rapid change is possible.

What you'll do
  • The development and management of the Digital Programme Management office (PMO) and the Digital Programme team (about 25 staff)

  • Lead on the development of an annual Informatics delivery plan that includes timescales and delivery dates, resources, and cost (for the whole of the Informatics teams)

  • Manage the pipeline of new projects, be responsible for resources allocation and reprioritisation to meet Trust priorities.

  • The PMO function to deliver the Digital Programme (The Digital Programme has an annual estimated capital value of approx. £5 million)

  • Developing a robust planning process that considers resources, timescales, and costs across the whole Informatics Department. The annual plan will be updated on a regular basis to accommodate new requirements/requests. The role will be responsible for highlighting consequences in terms of cost, timescales and resources as changes are made.

  • Delivery aspect of the Digital Strategy taking the high-level plan that is outlined and developing it in more detail for the next five years. This planning work will be undertaken in the context of a transition to working more closely with other healthcare partners in the HIOW integrated care system (ICS) and a rapidly changing service delivery model at UHSFT.

  • The post holder will develop a new function whereby all new requests for Informatics projects are received and quantified before a decision is made to proceed. This will change the way the Informatics service works.

  • The post holder will work with the Head of Digital Programmes to align the delivery of the Digital Strategy with the transformation programme to maximise benefits for the Trust.

  • The post holder will be required to deputise for the Head of Digital Programme
