Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) has an opportunity for a Critical care & theatres pharmacist.

Southampton Critical Care currently has 50 adult ventilator dependent beds plus 60 high care (Level 2) beds and a further 6 Level 3 beds have been built to open in spring 2021. This trust has also built a further 8 operating rooms and this has released further funding for clinical pharmacy support. The ICU pharmacy team looks after a large variety of critical care and high care patients including general, surgical, neurological/neurosurgical and cardiac/cardiothoracic surgical patients as well as supporting theatre staff.

Main duties of the job

If you are looking to expand your experience in Critical Care, this could be your perfect chance! We are offering an exciting opportunity to work as part of a very experienced and highly regarded team of critical care pharmacists, working with anaesthetists and intensivists, solving pharmaceutical problems for critically ill patients, including those in theatres. This includes review of Metavision prescriptions and attending consultant led ward rounds as well as accessing JAC electronic prescriptions. Also analysing drug usage data, guideline production and compiling drug file data.
