Job summary

The Industry and Innovation Team helps innovators get their products to patients faster, improve outcomes for patients and conditions for staff, reduce costs and build the UKs health and life science economy. Were a well-established friendly team of 7 health, technology, research and business experts, focussing on supporting innovators from industry and within the NHS we support 200 new innovators each year, many going into programmes delivered by the team. We work closely with other teams at Wessex AHSN, who youll collaborate with and who will support your work.

The post is based at the Wessex AHSN offices at Southampton Science Park. Some homeworking during office-hours is expected and there may be a need for travel across Wessex to meet with project teams and member organisations across the UK may be required.

Wessex AHSN is a company limited by guarantee, owned by the NHS and hosted by University Hospital Southampton.

Wessex AHSN is based in Southampton Science Park in Chilworth, in a bright modern office. Easily accessible from the M3, M27 and Southampton Parkway train station, the location offers free parking with a newly-redeveloped caf area on site. 27 acres of the Science Park site are designated a protected Conservation Area and open to staff.

We are seeking a well organised, inquisitive team-player to join this small but effective team as Programme Assistant. Youll support a range of projects and activities, including:

- arranging meetings and events

- tracking our teams activities

- collating responses and reports

The post is fixed term for 1 year to cover maternity leave. It is a full-time position, although for the right candidate some degree of part-time working may be considered. With the existing managers approval a secondment may be considered.

What we are looking for:

You will be a proven and proactive organiser and record keeper with a strong eye for detail, able to work independently to deadlines on long term activities, as well as respond quickly to shorter term needs. You will need to have strong verbal and written communication skills and will already be fully experienced with typical business software and confident with its use. Knowledge of the UK health system would be an advantage.
