An exciting opportunity for a Recovery College Coordinator has arisen within the Patients' Education team at Rampton Hospital.

The role entails devising and delivering courses to patients; courses will have a recovery focus and will need to be accessible by a range of learning needs.
The successful candidate will need to be an excellent communicator and teacher. Self-motivation and time management are essential qualities as this role coordinates the Recovery College for all learners. Working creatively within the hospital's policies and procedures is essential to capturing the attention of leaners whilst remaining safe in a challenging environment.
The Patients' Education Team is an established team of teachers from various professional backgrounds, and we are looking for the right candidate who will enhance the existing skill mix.
Main duties of the job
Being an established teacher will be of great benefit as the role requires new courses and schemes of work to be written. Established courses will need to be enhanced and made appropriate for all learners. Future courses will need to be considered alongside patients and their learning needs to keep the department relevant and engaging.
The role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will need to verbally communicate with patients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds who have various learning needs. Written records are shared amongst professionals from various departments and other Recovery College campuses.
You will need some physical fitness as there is the expectation to engage with Managing Violence and Aggression training on an annual basis. You will be required to escort patients to and from sessions. There is an expectancy to meaningly engage with Managerial and Clinical supervision. There will be occasions where you will need to support other teaching staff from within the department.

- To oversee individual learning plans in partnership with patient and agreed guidelines.

- To provide feedback to patients CPAs and to the multi-disciplinary team in line with guidelines.

- Active participation in department meetings to review Recovery College provision and ensure ongoing service improvement.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
