An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Healthy Lifestyles Team at Rampton Hospital
Are you interested in education and physical activity? Do you want to see the clients you work with loose weight and gain knowledge of healthy eating and maintain a healthy lifestyle? Then this post could be for you.
As a Healthy Lifestyles Facilitator you would be responsible for supporting patients who have been referred to the service. You will facilitate exercise and educational weight management sessions to groups of patients and on a 1;1 basis dependant upon need.
You will motivate and inspire reluctant participants to engage with exercise and weight management
Main duties of the job
The duties of the role includes; instructing patients in exercise sessions and providing classroom support for educational classes. Escorting patients to and from relevant areas, . Writing daily reports and communicating with other professionals within the multi-disciplinary team. Contributing to wider team discussion regarding patients and their care within the service. The role takes direction from the Healthy Lifestyles Coordinator and deputy coordinators. You will be based in a Day Unit but expected to contribute to the team across the wider hospital.

This role supports both aspects, taking direction from more senior staff. You will facilitate pre-planned sessions that are tailored to individual clients. You will adhere to strict security procedures at all times, the ideal candidate will be able to follow such policies as part of their daily duties. Good observation skills are necessary to ensure safety for patients and staff alike. Experience of working within an educational setting would be beneficial as you will be supporting patients who have various learning difficulties. The ability for creating good written communication is vital as you will contribute to written reports on a daily basis. Confident verbal communication is imperative for motivation, instructing and de-escalation on occasion. We are looking for a team player who can be flexible and understands the importance of teamwork. The ability to prioritise your time and also work independently is desirable.
