Job summary

We are looking for an experienced, committed and talented analyst to support customers with their information needs across our NHS Trust. We develop high quality information provision and analysis to assist with performance monitoring, improve patient outcomes and ensure that business aims are met.

Main duties of the job

Using your advanced coding and analysis expertise you will help decision makers to solve complex problems. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to build effective relationships with our internal departments. Our NHS Trust supplies a broad range of healthcare services to patients and so curiosity, initiative and sensitivity to each customer's needs will enable progression within this role.

  • Takes responsibility for workload management and prioritisation of key pieces of work
  • Leading data analysis projects and developing regular information/reports/datasets.
  • Significant experience working with healthcare data sources including patient information systems.
  • Experience of creating and maintaining complicated data flows.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Relational database design. Understanding of how to interrogate and manipulate large datasets.
  • Understanding of complex data flow architectures.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of information systems, particularly patient information systems (RiO/SystmOne)
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server tools (Reporting Services, Integration Services, Power BI) or equivalent reporting tools
  • Knowledge of NHS Information requirements, datasets, data dictionary

Skills

  • Practical applied knowledge of using SQL/T-SQL (or equivalent structured query language),
  • Ability to resolve complex information queries and issues where there are a range of potential solutions
  • Excellent organisation & planning skills
  • Able to present information clearly and communicate technical concepts to a varied audience
  • High level of numeracy with good problem solving, attention to detail and ability to follow complex processes.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Able to create complex data flow architectures.
