Job summary

This role requires the post holder to provide an efficient and comprehensive secretarial/administrative support service based at Marlow House, City North Local Mental Health Team.

The role requires an experienced and professional individual who has a flexible approach and the ability to prioritise and work on their own initiative.

Applicants must be IT literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, highly organised and be able to consistently demonstrate high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, work well with others and enjoy working without supervision and as part of a team, as well as highly organised. You should have a passion for providing a quality service and a track record of adding value to a workplace

Please note that this post may not meet the pay and skill level required for a Skilled worker visa

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa and also does not appear on the shortage occupation list for healthcare and education.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be working within the Adult Mental Health team. The post holder will be involved in Team meetings for example business, referral and admin meetings to offer an admin support function. The post holder will support with the teams performance data. The main responsibility of the role is to provide administrative support to the clinical team. Duties will include typing letters, audio typing, room bookings, minute taking, booking appointments using the Trust database system and holding electronic diaries. Ideally, you should be flexible to cover other responsibilities to meet the demands of the service.

The post involves speaking to service users, carers and other agencies. You will be expected to be a team player.

Applicants must possess a typing/word processing qualification to at least RSA III/OCR equivalent, educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. You will work under the direct supervision of the Admin Team Leader and have the ability to prioritise own work within tight deadlines.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this post.
