Job summary
We are looking to recruit an experienced driver to join our Logistics team undertaking the multi-drop delivery & collection of NHS related cargos to & from healthcare provider sites around Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire & surrounding counties, and other sites as required, using light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonne Gross Vehicle Weight.
You will work as part of a team undertaking scheduled delivery runs, & ad hoc work, on a scheduled rota basis working 7.5 hours per day between 6.30am and 8pm Monday to Friday. There is a requirement that you will undertake overtime as & when required.
The current site for Trent Logistics is Duncan Macmillan House, Porchester Road, Nottingham NG3 6AA and work will be based from there.
Main duties of the job
Our main duties are to undertake the collection & delivery of NHS cargos including Pathology & Histopathology specimens, pharmacy items, mail, parcels, stock, and medical records, using our fleet of liveried vehicles.
The driving of a light commercial vehicle will take up at least 50% of the working day so previous similar experience in delivery driving for work is essential. Previous experience of multi drop work is desirable.
Throughout the course of the day you will have regular face to face contact with our customers so the ability to communicate politely and effectively at all levels is essential.
You must hold a full UK driving licence to category B with no endorsements.

Trent Logistics is the transport service provider for Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and additionally provide a Logistics service to other NHS organisations.
We hold accreditations in Quality Management system (ISO9001-2015) and in Environmental Management system (ISO14001-2015)
We use a fleet of modern Electric (battery) & Diesel vans.
The team comprises of 30 colleagues who take pride in the logistical services that they provide to the NHS and strive for excellence and continual improvement.
Full induction training is undertaken to the role and on-going training to the scheduled runs is provided with other experienced colleagues.
You will work alongside other colleagues whilst at the base (Duncan Macmillan House) and although you will mainly work alone whilst driving you may have contact with colleagues at communal locations during the day.
The sharing of knowledge & experience between colleagues is undertaken regularly to maintain continual improvement.
The role will include;
Working as team member on different scheduled runs on a rota basis between 6.30am to 8pm Monday to Friday providing a logistics service.
The driving of a works vehicle including daily basic maintenance & inspection and completion of vehicle records.
Manual handling and the use of trolleys to move goods between the vehicle and delivery/collection location.

Communicating with a range of people on a regular basis.
Undertaking training as required some of which will be PC based.
Sorting internal mail in a post room environment.
Following written & verbal instructions and completing paperwork & providing verbal feedback.
Working without direct supervision during the day.
Ability to work under pressure to timescales whilst driving in traffic.
Having a good knowledge of Nottingham, Derby & surrounding areas.
