Job summary
A very exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for 2 Nurse Consultant posts based at Rampton Hospital working in the National Services which encompasses both the National High Secure Services for Learning Disability and National High Secure Women's Service and our Mental Health and Personality Disorder Service.
We are seeking 2 highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurses (RNLD and RNMH) who possess extensive skills and knowledge on the delivering of psychologically informed and compassionate care for individuals with complex clinical needs who require care and treatment in conditions of high security.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will have extensive experience working with individuals with complex clinical presentations within a forensic environment at a senior level and be able demonstrate clinical expertise in this field of practice. Specifically, the successful candidates will have experience working with persons with either a learning disability, a major mental illness or a personality disorder and possess a formalised qualification in a psychological intervention related to one of these areas of expertise.
The successful candidates will provide clinical leadership aimed at enhancing patient care and the patient experience at Rampton Hospital through the four pillars of advanced and expert level nursing practice. A key focus of the roles will be optimising existing approaches to care and treatment outcomes and driving new innovative practice to improve the patient experience.
In this post, the successful candidate will be expected to be highly active in clinical practice, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and partner agencies delivering specialist care to patients with complex presentations which may include significant challenging behaviours. Consistent with the four pillars of advanced practice, the successful candidate will provide expert clinical advice and consultancy, clinical supervision and training for colleagues and contribute and initiate research and development projects to improve service provision.
