Job summary

As a result of service transformation supporting the development of our Specialist CAMHS provision we have an exciting opportunity for a highly specialist clinical psychologist seeking to develop both clinical and leadership expertise. You will lead a specialist psychology services for the At Risk Mental State (ARMS) and Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) service pathways as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team (MDT).

You will provide highly specialist clinical psychology expertise where there are concerns of an emerging mental illness through both direct and indirect working through consultation, assessment and joint working. You will consult where appropriate to other agencies on developing multi-agency care programmes to support the high level of need for this complex care group.

Main duties of the job

As part of the MDT you will provide consultation and advice for those complex referrals where possible psychosis has been queried but where additional complexities such as social care and relational trauma needs may indicate an alternative formulation and a more appropriate recommendation for support / intervention.

A key aspect of this role will be to provide support within the wider MDT and networks through consultation, supervision and training.

You will support pathway evaluation providing regular reports for service managers and commissioners, advising where appropriate on service needs and future development.

  • Experience in the specific assessment and formulation of both child and adult attachment
  • Experience in assessment and management of clinical risk
  • Experience of working within teams as part of a MDT approach to supporting complex presentations including early developmental trauma
  • Experience of offering a consultation model to supporting the MDT and wider network around the child / young person with complex trauma presentations
  • Experience of effective multi-disciplinary, multi-agency working
  • Provision of clinical supervision and training to psychologists and practitioners from other professional groups
