Job summary
The Liaison Psychiatry service for working age adults is an established and well-respected team who seek to deliver a comprehensive, integrated Liaison Psychiatry service for patients within the Emergency Department at Kings Mill Hospital as well as those who are inpatients in the general hospital setting and who may have self-harmed or are presenting with an acute psychiatric crisis and often challenging behaviours.
Main duties of the job
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an organised, motivated and highly skilled Liaison Nurse to join our team. We are seeking someone with excellent communication skills, a flexible approach to work, significant experience in working within acute adult mental health whilst some experience of working with older adults is desirable.
The Liaison Psychiatry team is PLAN accredited which is an exciting and nationally recognised process and we would welcome the successful applicant to continue to support this process.

We also offer short-term follow ups using Brief Interventions. Part of our role is signposting to appropriate non-statutory agencies whilst also liaising with, and referring into secondary mental health services as appropriate.
A core requirement of our service is to provide training and education to our acute hospital colleagues and it is expected that the successful applicant will take an active role in this.
