We are looking to recruit an Assistant Practitioner to join our therapy team at Ruddington Manor Care Home. The focus of the unit is to maximise and enable independence of the individual and the nature of work is fast paced.

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Practitioner with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and delegate according to patient and service need. You will be a key player within the Therapy Team and be responsible for undertaking assessments and progressing patients in accordance with the goal setting process and with support of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.

Our services are currently works Monday to Friday and not bank holidays but this may be reviewed in the future.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to liaise closely with the senior therapists, rehabilitation support workers, care home staff, referrers and health and social care professionals. In addition, you will act as a caseload holder and be required to treat and support patients, families and/or carers. Excellent communication skills and a can-do, proactive approach are essential.

Applicants should have a minimum of NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent and proven experience working with older adults especially in rehabilitation, and the community. Continuing development support through apprenticeship may be considered.

This role involves cross site working and community visits. You must hold a driving licence and have a car for work purposes.
