Job summary

We have exciting opportunity to join the team as a Clinical Specialist to work within Adult Eating Disorder and Local Mental Health Teams.

You will act as a lead specialist with a high degree of autonomy within Local Services, with specific focus and remit to deliver significant improvements in services where patients present with complex needs, including eating difficulties.

You will have advanced and specialist knowledge in the mental health needs of adults and their families. You will provide specialist knowledge in the mental health needs of adults, where there are also concerns around difficult eating behaviours and specialist clinical consultation, advice, guidance, and support to staff across the Trust.

The post provides a highly specialist leadership role within Local Services and promotes a multi-disciplinary approach to all aspects of care.

Main duties of the job

You will demonstrate an extensive knowledge of services for patients experiencing significant mental health difficulties where there are compounding concerns around eating/dietary intake. You will also be a resource for service users/carers and will be able to provide clarity around evidence-based approaches to care/treatment. You will have a significant responsibility for the provision of consultation, guidance, and support to LMHT MDTs where there are concerns regarding a patient's eating difficulties

You will be required to hold extensive knowledge around complex eating issues and be competent to offer understanding and formulation to other clinicians, service users/carers.

A key element of this role will include providing direct senior practitioner support to the LMHT and Eating Disorder Team where complex difficulties are present.
