Holly Lodge Day Service are looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to work with people with significant levels of need. You would be someone dedicated to delivering a high standard of person centred care whilst supporting individuals to experience therapeutic community-based activities.
Main duties of the job
- Supporting people to access therapeutic community-based activities independently and be able to document this
- Undertake a variety of physical activities promoting health and well-being such as swimming, walking, and cycling
- Can drive unit vehicles
- Undertake the personal care needs of the individuals attending the service
- Be able to build positive relationships with carers, service users and their families
- Be able to communicate effectively with service users

The successful applicant must have experience of working in a healthcare setting. Experience and understanding of Intellectual Disabilities and the associated mental health needs of individuals is also desirable. As a Band 3 HCA you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and support junior staff and student nurses. You will be expected to work as part of a team and demonstrate initiative in undertaking your duties. Due to the complex needs of the people we support, you will need to be able to make decisions under pressure and be able to assess and minimise risks as they arise in what can be challenging and unpredictable situations. You will need to be reflective and have the ability for continuing self-development.
