Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who has the relevant skills to become an integral member of the team. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team in a busy inpatient setting.

Alexander House is a secure unit providing 24 hour care for up to eight men with a learning disability who exhibit challenging behaviour and who are detained under the Mental Health Act. The post holder will provider a comprehensive and efficient administration service to the Ward Manager and team.

Main duties of the job

You will be based at Alexander House in Mansfield. The main responsibility of the role is to undertake clinical administration work as required by the ward manager and team.

Duties of the role will include typing of correspondence minute taking of meetings, assist with the clerical duties involved in the admission and discharge of patients, source and collate information using Microsoft excel graphs and charts, update information to the patient database. The post involves liaising with service users, carers and other agencies and excellent communication skills are required. You will be expected to be a team player.

It is a requirement in applying for this post to possess excellent organisation skills, have a full knowledge of a range of business and administration procedures acquired through NVQ Level 3 or proven practical experience, be proficient in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Word, Database and internal systems including patient and staff information systems. A Good general education including English Language and Maths to GCSE or equivalent is required. Possession of a typing/word processing qualification is required and the ability to work on own initiative.
