Job summary

We are seeking to appoint a qualified Clinical or Forensic Psychologist to join an enthusiastic and cohesive team of Qualified and Assistant psychologists. The post is based in Rampton Hospital within the Mental Health Service and consequently offers the opportunity to develop skills and competencies in working with men with complex mental health difficulties detained in high secure care.

Main duties of the job

You will work with a specialist multidisciplinary team providing psychological assessment and treatment for a variety of presenting problems. You will work within a large team and be supported by senior staff experienced in providing a range of psychological approaches for this population. As part of the role, you will contribute to the development and evaluation of specialist treatment programmes, tailored to the complex mental health and offending behaviour needs of this population. You may be required to provide clinical supervision and support to junior psychology and other staff. You will be encouraged to conduct service-relevant evaluation / research and promote services as a centre of excellence.

Minimum two years supervised practice developing expertise in forensic/clinical psychology practice and in mental health services.

Experience of working effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Experience of facilitation of ward/MDT based supervision groups and/or reflective spaces

Broad knowledge of models of assessment, management, and treatment of mentally disordered offenders.
