Job summary
We are looking to recruit a 0.5 wte Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist to our team of Early Intervention SLT's for a fixed term of 12 months. We work at a targeted level to support pre-school children, their families and the wider workforce.

Main duties of the job
To provide clinical case supervision, including safe guarding support for Home Talk Workers
To maintain quality of the Home Talk Workers through observation visits and coaching for practitioners under the guidance of your team leader.
To support the Home Talk caseload through triage and closure of cases.
To support the Language Lead initiative through development and delivery of networks and appropriate materials.
To develop and deliver service initiatives as required by various commissioners. This may include:
-Individual caseload within specified settings or specialist area
-Work with MDT, families and other providers/services/agencies.
-Development and delivery of training, information and resources.
-Support the development of the Early Intervention pathway through audit and gathering data.
To supervise students on placement allocated to the team.
To implement policies, procedures and professional standards in Speech and Language Therapy.
Provides support and training to less experienced therapists
To work collaboratively as part of both multi-disciplinary and uni-disciplinary teams ensuring a well-coordinated care plan.

Home Talk is an evidence based intervention for 2 year olds identified as having spoken language difficulties. We work at a targeted level alongside the specialist SLT service to ensure that children receive the right support. We support children with SLCN by empowering parents, carers and the wider workforce to provide effective interventions. A key part of the role is to ensure the ongoing success of the Home Talk programme through providing high quality clinical supervision. The Early Intervention team has a background of developing innovative ways of working at a universal and targeted level based around our Language for Life agenda. The post is ideal for someone who has experience of working at a targeted level, or who has clinical experience and would like to dip their toes into this way of working!
This post is working across Nottinghamshire . You will be part of a large, dynamic and supportive team of SLT's, who will ensure you have an enjoyable, rewarding and successful transition into the service. Ongoing support and supervision will be tailored to your previous experience.
The Early Intervention SLT team sits within the Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Service which provides support to children with a whole range of communication difficulties, including eating and swallowing difficulties across Nottingham City and County.
We offer good support networks, regular supervision, and access to internal training.
The base for this job is currently Ashfield Health Village but there is some flexibility with this.
