Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Mental Health Specialist Services to join the Intensive Community Assessment and Treatment Teams (ICATT ) at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

We are seeking motivated leaders who are enthusiastic and have knowledge of the Transforming Care Agenda and has flexibility to meet the ever- changing demands of the service.

ICATT is a Multi-Disciplinary Team who support people with an Intellectual Disability, complex needs and Mental Health presentation. The Team strive to deliver the principles of Transforming Care to help individuals remain in their own homes, offering intensive support and treatment.

We have two Band 7 Team Manager posts full time in the following areas:

ICATT North - Lindsay Close, Mansfield, NG18 5TF

ICATT South - Highbury Hospital, Highbury, NG6 9DR

Main duties of the job

To work collaboratively with Team Managers and other Professional Leads across the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Service.

The role requires an experienced clinician with proven clinical, leadership and managerial skills who demonstrates credibility and is able to influence specialist service delivery within an integrated partnership.

To ensure that service users open to the teams receive high quality assessment and treatment and that this is in accordance with identified individual care pathways and in the least restrictive setting.

To provide support and leadership to clinicians, support staff and students across own professional team, including own and others' continuing professional development.

To provide clinical and professional leadership, ensuring effective multi-disciplinary working, working closely with other services.

To ensure that performance targets are met.

To maintain up to date knowledge of national guidelines and legislation within the field of learning disabilities, mental Health and personality disorders, ensuring that clinicians are aware of professional developments which may impact on their practice.

To attend and proactively contribute to core Directorate operational and Governance agendas/meetings, cascading information in a timely manner.

To act as an interface between clinicians and managers on professional and/or personal issues.

To promote collaborative working relationships across the stakeholder agencies, encouraging open channels of communication.

To proactively respond to complaints and influence future service delivery in response to lessons learned.

To undertake investigations as necessary and to participate in disciplinary hearings when appropriate.

To work in partnership with the Team Coordinators to ensure the performance targets of both the Trust and Social Services are met by the nursing team.

To promote best practice in professional field and identify opportunities to share resources and skills.

To be professionally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own work.

Essential

  • Professional Qualification (Learning Disabilities) plus further specialist knowledge/post registration experience to diploma level or equivalent underpinned by theory within physical healthcare or other formal training.
  • Maintain current registration with the NMC and adheres to the NMC Code (or equivalent professional body) Demonstrates continuing Professional Development within their specialism
  • Management and Leadership experience

  • Willingness to undertake new clinical practices, education and training that will enhance service delivery
