Job summary

The Clinical and Forensic Psychology Services at Rampton Hospital are a team of 20 Qualified and 15 Assistant Psychologists, supported by a team of 6 admin staff. The service covers 5 main areas around the hospital, including 3 National Services; National Learning Disability; National Women's; National Deaf; Mental Health and Men's Personality Disorder.

We are seeking to appoint a qualified Clinical or Forensic Psychologist to join an enthusiastic and cohesive team of Qualified and Assistant psychologists. The post is based in Rampton Hospital within the National High Secure Healthcare Service for Learning Disability and Autism and consequently offers the opportunity to develop skills and competencies in working with neurodevelopmental difficulties in high secure care.

Main duties of the job

You will work with a specialist multidisciplinary team that values psychological approaches. You will be supported by experienced Consultant Forensic Psychologist and/or Consultant Clinical Psychologist and may be required to provide clinical supervision and support to junior psychology and other staff. As part of the role, you will contribute to the development and evaluation of specialist treatment programmes, tailored to the complex mental health and risk needs of this population. You will be encouraged to conduct service-relevant evaluation / research and promote services as a centre of excellence.
