Job summary

There is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our service as clinical lead OT in the Learning Disabilities and Women's care streams at Rampton Hospital.

Rampton Hospital is a High Secure forensic mental healthcare hospital in North Nottinghamshire near Retford. Care streams also include male mental health, and male personality disorders. Additionally, it is the national provider of high secure services for men with learning disabilities and for women.

Your role will be to ensure the provision of a of high-quality evidence based Occupational Therapy service within this forensic setting alongside the OT manager.

You will be working within two innovative and established Therapy Services teams, which includes Occupational Therapists, technical instructors, therapeutic involvement workers, education staff, speech and language therapists, health and fitness and vocational staff and peer support workers. The team provides a comprehensive range of interventions to meet the therapeutic needs of the patient group and promote recovery and well-being.

Main duties of the job

The Therapy and Education Service at Rampton Hospital prides itself on providing an effective and needs-led service. We offer a range of occupational, educational and vocational services for patients, and you will play a key role in shaping and leading these services.

You will work closely with day unit Managers and the Occupational Therapy Professional Lead in the clinical leadership of two occupational therapy teams.

You will manage a caseload of complex patients, working within multi-disciplinary teams ensuring that high quality individualized care is provided and delivered.

You will effectively delegate responsibilities within the therapy service.

You will provide specialist advice, support and clinical supervision to other staff and students.

You will have responsibility for practice development within Occupational Therapy and lead on other service and quality improvement initiatives.
