Job summary

We are recruiting for a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Team Leader to work with us at the wells Road Centre. Our Hospital provides low secure care to both male and female patients.

We are looking for a candidate who has the relevant skills to provide safe and effective patient care, demonstrating the knowledge and experience necessary to inspire good practice and develop services and enhance patient experience and quality.

The focus of the role is to to effectively lead a team, demonstrating the knowledge and experience necessary to inspire good practice and develop services and enhance patient experience and quality

You will be expected to provide clinical supervision and undertake appraisal systems for a group of staff as well as maintaining your own continuing professional development.

It is essential that you are able to work flexible hours, over 7 days a week, covering a 24 hour pattern. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team within the low secure services

You will also complete Unit Co-ordinator duties which allows the service to have a site manager in the hospital all all times.

These posts are subject to National NHS T&Cs, paid enhancements for unsocial hours working during nights, weekends and bank holidays and we offer a Golden Hello payment of £2,750 to new starters with the Trust in this role (payable in instalments over a 2 year period)

Main duties of the job

We need Registered Nurses (learning disability and or mental health) who have completed preceptorship, have experience working with adults with mental health problems, are able to lead a team, and work creatively and effectively in a clinical environment.

Candidates will demonstrate progressive skills in leadership, supervision, clinical practice, service development, risk assessment and risk management. We need nurses who are approachable, compassionate and motivated with good communication skills.

  • Evidence of post basic registration development or accredited training and courses

Work Experience

  • Knowledge and Understanding of current Mental Health Legislation
  • Knowledge and Understanding of clinical risk assessment.
  • Experience of working with challenging behaviour. Ability to develop nursing practice in line with research / evidence based practice.

Desirable

  • Relevant forensic experience.
  • Knowledge of utilising resources and how this impacts on budgeting / finance.
  • Audit and Research experience.
  • Ability to manage set objectives and plan the development of others within a team.

Aptitude/Skills

Essential

  • Ability to function and work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to lead a team, delegate and manage workloads.
  • Good verbal / written communication skills
  • Ability to develop professional working relationships with a challenging patient group.
