Job summary

Mental Health Services for Older People are looking to recruit a Band 6 Clinical Lead for Cherry Ward at Highbury Hospital in Nottingham.

Cherry Ward is a 20 bedded mixed gender mental health assessment ward for patients over the age of 65 years, or younger with a presenting degree of frailty. Patients present with a diverse range of mental health disorders, including; Bipolar, clinical depression, anxiety and personality disorders.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, forward thinking and motivated Clinical Lead with experience or invested interest in working with our patient group. You will have a sound knowledge and understanding of the mental health, physical health and social needs relating to this patient group.

We are seeking to recruit someone who has the relevant knowledge and skills to provide clinical leadership to the ward's multidisciplinary team. You will be a visible point of contact to junior staff requiring clinical guidance, expertise and support in the delivery of high-quality, person centred and compassionate care.

It is essential that you are able to work flexible hours over 24-hour period 7 days a week if needed. This post is advertised as a full-time position.

Applicants should have have excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, be able to work alongside existing team manager and clinical lead, and have the personal characteristics to assist in leading a strong, experienced and supportive team in a challenging and rewarding environment.

Applicants must display a considerable degree of initiative, possess mature judgement and maintain a calm, friendly and efficient manner when dealing with patients, carers, colleagues and visitors.

You will be required to apply a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism to their work.
