The Bassetlaw Community Mental Health/ Intensive Home Treatment Team offer assessment & treatment for people over the age of 65 with mental health needs & for people of any age with a dementia diagnosis.
The teams cover the Bassetlaw locality & supports people in their own homes to avoid hospital admissions.
Working hours of the team are Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, however we can offer flexibility.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work alongside a specialist occupational therapist, developing their skills, and delivering occupational therapy assessments and interventions in the CMHT and IHTT multidisciplinary teams. These teams aim to promote recovery, enabling patients to remain at home and supporting their positive mental and physical wellbeing. IHTT works more intensively with patients up to an 8 week period preventing hospital admissions & supporting discharge. The CMHT provides longer term input
Some of the duties of this job include:
- To provide an occupational therapy service for older people with complex mental health needs
- To carry out occupational therapy assessment, goal setting, implementation of treatment programmes and evaluation.
- To establish the needs of individuals referred to the service and plan recovery focused care with colleagues from health, social services, families, and the voluntary sector.
