We have opportunities across in-patient wards and in the community working with people with dementia and with mental health challenges. You would be welcome to work full or part-time, covering one or a mix of teams. We would welcome a conversation about what opportunities would suit you.
Ward teams are based at Millbrook (Kingsmill Hospital) and Highbury Hospital, (Bulwell).
Community teams are based at Kirkby-in-Ashfield (currently but moving to Millbrook) and Highbury Hospital.
The roles are supported by welcoming multi-disciplinary teams, SLT Clinical Specialists and AHP Lead.
Main duties of the job
The role requires clinical and professional expertise in order that those with speech, language and communication needs and/or dysphagia needs benefit from a well-coordinated pro-active, specialist, efficient and effective speech and language therapy service within the mental health & dementia wards and/or community.
The post holder is responsible for specialist SLT assessment and diagnosis, individual therapy and management, training, advice and a consultative/coaching approach within their specialism/setting as appropriate.
The post holder will have a delegated leadership and responsibility for the SLT needs within their setting. Within their setting they will identify and advise around needs and trends and together with their line manager they will develop and provide training and professional mentorship/ supervision.
